Transit Feasibility & Planning Studies
Generating public awareness and gaining public input on transportation studies, projects, and services in Orange County
Overview
The Transit Feasibility & Planning Studies we have worked on include multiple public transportation projects such as:
- Caltrans FRAMES
- Countywide Transportation Demand Management Strategic Plan
- Orange County Transit Vision Master Plan
- OC Connect
- Fullerton Park and Ride / Orangethorpe Transit Village Conceptual Study
Goals
The goals of these studies aim at achieving the following objectives:
- Ensure widespread dissemination of information to relevant stakeholders in Orange County
- Communicate technical details in a clear and accessible manner for the general public.
- Develop strategies to engage hard-to-reach and underserved communities
- Tailor communication methods based on the nature of the information and the type of input required, ensuring cost-effectiveness
- Actively engage with the public, community leaders and interest groups
- Gather feedback, preferences, and ideas from diverse groups
- Assist the public in understanding the technical planning process of the projects and available services
Approach
We meet these objectives through a variety of multicultural methods:
- Co-organize pop-ups, public workshops, open houses, neighborhood meetings, and community events all around the county
- Coordinate promotional activities, including handouts, print and digital ads, surveys and email campaigns at events
- Set up and manage multilingual staff
- Provide copywriting services, and translate print, online, and geofencing advertising strategies into multilanguage
- Conduct canvassing to distribute public meeting flyers and materials prior to events
- Offer mailhouse support
- Provide interpretation for one-on-one briefings with city staff, community members, and business stakeholders as needed
- Translate e-blasts, infographics, fact sheets, and web/social media content
- Prepare an outreach overview report after each outreach phase and a final report summarizing community outreach activities, key findings, and all materials used during the public outreach program
